Frequently Asked Questions

If you are interested in a custom cabinet package, the first step is to reach out to us.  Regardless of whether you are a homeowner, architect, designer, or general contractor, we are looking forward to speaking with you about your upcoming project.  You do not need a full set of plans or a fully formed idea in order to begin a conversation with us.  The earlier we can be involved in a building project, the better equipped we will be to deliver excellence at every turn.

Northwest Woodslayer works primarily within Whatcom & Skagit counties.  If your project is located beyond this area, do not let that dissuade you from contacting us; for the right project we are willing to work just about anywhere!

If you are planning a remodel or new building project, the time to reach out about your cabinetry is now!  Due to increasing demand, we are scheduling work months in advance; the sooner you reach out, the greater chance that we can produce and deliver your project within your desired timeline.
So take the first step!

From small kitchens to entire homes full of custom cabinetry, we deliver projects of varying scales.  For a small-to-medium sized kitchen with simple storage solutions, most clients come to us with a budget of $20,000-$35,000.  Customers looking for a large kitchen with highly customized elements are typically expecting to spend $45,000-$75,000 & up.  We are happy to discuss what finishing & design solutions are available in order to help you meet your budget.

The first step in developing a preliminary budget is to find out how many lineal feet of cabinets are in your project.  We will then develop a cost per lineal foot based on your overall design, material, and finish selections.  A kitchen from Northwest Woodslayer typically costs somewhere between $500-$800 per lineal foot.  Highly customized work can be $900+ per lineal foot.  (These costs include delivery & installation.)

When you receive an estimate for your project, it will include design, fabrication, finishing, and installation.  Each element will be carefully considered to ensure that the final product integrates seamlessly with both the aesthetics and functionality of your space.  We price each cabinet package with a premium soft-closing hardware package and the highest quality sheet goods.  We only use hardware and sheet goods that we trust.

For a standard kitchen, we can typically install cabinets pertinent to countertop templating in a single day.  We typically allow for a second day to account for any unforeseen obstacles on the jobsite.  After countertops and appliances are installed, there is often an additional trip or two that may be necessary to button up loose ends.

The only work that we conduct on a jobsite is the installation of cabinetry that we have produced and delivered.  All demolition and prep work will need to be finished prior to our installation.

We consider our installation just as integral to a project’s success as the planning and manufacturing.  We, therefore, always prefer to do this phase ourselves.  Our team of installation specialists are fully prepped on design intent, jobsite preparedness, and construction methods vital to each project’s success.
